Walled Garden: Hudson Highlands, NY

On an historic Hudson Valley property, a generous garden with high stone and stucco walls was designed for ornamental and edible plantings. Century-old stately boxwoods were relocated to hug the walls, giving the new garden an instant sense of history. A declining orchard was expanded with the addition of mature fruit trees, and underplanted in a meadow tapestry of spring ephemerals and fescue grasses.
